What Butterflies Have to do With Fitness
"You must want to be a butterfly so badly that you are willing to give up being a caterpillar." - Sekou Andrews
"If you want to get better, surround yourself with people who make you question how good you truly are." - David Goggins You can learn more about David and his incredible story, influence, and what he has overcome here. (WARNING - STRONG LANGUAGE / NSFW).
The Goggins quote describes how I feel when I'm around you all. Every single time you've come to a group workout, I've personally felt pushed, inspired, and motivated. Every single time I've watched one of you #GRINDON with a smile on your face, try something you didn't think you could do, actually do it, and hug / high five it out afterwards, I am reminded why I chose to leave a career in financial planning and embark on this journey... (maybe journey isn't quite the right word, it's not quite epic enough and it sounds laborious). Rather, I am reminded why I embarked on this MISSION to motivate, inspire, and support you all on YOUR lifelong quest to be the best version of yourself... physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. You all push me every single day to learn more, to coach better, to show up more consistently, to take chances, to try, to fail, to try again, to get the F back up and face my fears, day in and day out.
Basically, I want to be a butterfly so badly that I am willing to give up being a caterpillar. I am willing to make those changes, to stretch at the seams, and to grind and give more than I ever have in order to inspire you to do the same. You push me to be the best version of myself I can possibly be, and I hope I can give some of that back to you. So, thank you.
It may be time to think for yourself... what are you willing to give up to accomplish your goals and reach your dreams? What are you willing to sacrifice? You will have to become a new you, a better you, a more seasoned, wiser and dedicated you. You will have to go to new parts of your map, go to places you haven't been before. It's hard. And scary. And it sure as shit will hurt sometimes... but if you do... life can and will be stunningly beautiful, like those butterflies we all happily admire when we see them flitting and floating by us. Make the decision. Now let's rock and roll.
